A Hunt You’ll Never Forget

When fresh snow covers the ground and the air turns sharp, the hunt begins.

This is no ordinary hunt. Our 1-on-1 guided cougar (mountain lion) hunts in Northern Idaho follow fresh tracks through steep timber and deep-snow country—behind a pack of elite hounds and with an experienced outfitter at your side. It’s raw, rare, and unforgettable.

As a licensed, family-run outfitter, we keep hunts personal, prepared, and focused on doing it the right way.

What to Expect

Our guided cougar (mountain lion) hunts in Northern Idaho cover more than 450 square miles of national forest and private land—and we’ve recently expanded even further. This rugged country is prime lion territory.

Hunts run August 30 through March 31, but the best tracking conditions are typically fresh snowfall in December, January, and February.

You’ll travel mountain roads by 4x4, ATV, or snowmobile to scout fresh tracks, and at times our guides will hike into remote terrain on foot. Once a fresh track is found, we release our BearPath-Plott hounds—highly trained hound dogs built to pursue and tree lions fast and far.

While the dogs run, we keep you with the vehicle, then bring you in when the cat is bayed so you can finish the hunt on foot.
